Ticket only or guided tour?

If you already know the history of the Minoans, or you are short on time, an entry ticket is all you need and you can explore the main route in about two hours. If this is your first visit, we recommend a guided tour: Knossos has few signs, several building phases on top of each other and modern reconstructions that are hard to read on your own. A licensed guide makes the palace, the frescoes and the legend of the Minotaur far easier to understand, and children usually love the stories.
